The Beauty of Becoming
Annalisa FormicaShare
There have been so many moments in my life that have shaped me. Many different experiences, heartbreaks, lessons, and things I never thought I would have to go through. Some of them changed me in ways I didn’t understand at the time. Looking back, I realize that every version of me was simply doing the best she could with what she knew and what she had.
I don’t think I’m becoming a different person. I think I’m becoming more of myself.
I’ve learned that healing doesn’t always mean cutting people off or isolating yourself. Sometimes it simply means becoming more aware. More aware of the energy I allow around me. More aware of how certain environments make me feel. More aware of the things I once tolerated, accepted, or aligned with that no longer feel like me.
And that awareness has changed the way I move through life.
I’m learning that I don’t have to force connections, relationships, environments, or versions of myself to stay the same just because they once felt right. People grow. Priorities shift. Energy changes. And sometimes outgrowing something doesn’t mean it was bad, it simply means it no longer belongs in the chapter I’m writing.
I’m choosing to honor that.
I’m not disconnecting from the world. I’m becoming more intentional about what I connect myself to. I’m protecting my peace without closing my heart. I’m learning to trust my intuition, listen to my body, and recognize when something doesn’t feel aligned, even when I can’t fully explain why.
Maybe that’s one of the gifts that comes from everything I’ve been through: I know myself differently now.
The things that once broke me have taught me boundaries. The moments that made me question myself have taught me self-trust. The experiences I never asked for have given me a deeper understanding of who I want to be.
And I’m still becoming.
I don’t have everything figured out, and I don’t need to. I’m allowing myself to evolve without feeling guilty for leaving behind the things that no longer feel like home.
This season feels less about becoming someone new and more about returning to who I’ve always been underneath everything.
Soft. Grounded. Intuitive. Strong.
And at peace with the fact that not everything, and not everyone is meant to come with me.
